TCSD provides free access to graphic design tool — Canva

“We are excited to offer this easy-to-use tool to our staff and students. Having used the website for several years, I know it can be beneficial to those looking to add a professional design element to their presentations, videos, flyers, posters, and more,” said Communications Director Marie Denson.

The site gives users access to more than 60,000 educational templates and learning resources as well as more than 75 million premium stock images, videos, and graphics. Users can use their district-issued email and password to log in to the site – Canva.com.

Teachers can use the site to create worksheets and lesson plans. There is also a classroom space where students can share their work with their teachers and the teacher can provide feedback.

“Canva is a great tool for teachers and students to use. Teachers can create practice pages, online interactive assignments, and other engaging learning tasks,” said  Clarke N. Johnsen Math Teacher Becky Darling.

“I love that I can also engage students in creating by activating my Canva classroom. Students can create virtual posters and learning aids, graphic projects, and more using Canva and then share it right back to me. What a great tool!”

Next year, during registration, families of elementary and junior high students will be asked if they would like to opt in to have access to a Canva for Education account.
