TCSD honors retirees in annual banquet

During the annual Employee Retirement Dinner we honored 30 Tooele County School District employees who've served in the field of education for a combined 757 years! Thank you for your dedication to education.

Schedule Change

There has been a change to the school year calendar. May 28 will still be the last day of school for all Tooele Valley schools, however, it will be an in-person learning day with elementary students being dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and secondary students dismissed at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27 will be a digital learning day (no in-person school).

For Dugway, Ibapah, Vernon & Wendover area schools, May 27 will be the last day of school. Students will meet in-person Monday-Thursday with dismissal for all students at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Earth Day

According to Earthday.Org, on April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans protested for a healthy, sustainable environment. By the end of that year, the first Earth Day had led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. Fifty-one years later, the annual Earth Day celebration continues. Earthday.Org’s theme for this year is Restore Our Earth. It focuses on natural processes and emerging green technologies that can restore the world's ecosystems.

Notes of Appreciation

May 3-7 is Teacher Appreciation Week and we need your help. Please leave us a note about a teacher who has made a positive impact. Notes will be posted on the TCSD social media sites and also shared with the teacher. Thank you.

POSTPONED--Twenty Wells Groundbreaking Ceremony

Tooele County School District will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for Twenty Wells Elementary in May. This planned event has been postponed due to weather. A new date and time will be announced shortly. It will be held at 636 East Nygreen Street in Grantsville.

Masks are still the rule at school

Even though the statewide mask mandate will be lifted on April 10, the mask requirements for K-12 schools will remain in place until June 15. Local officials, like a school board or county council, do not have the legal authority to end the school mask requirement before this date.
