Schedule Change Appeal Procedure

6
WHEN CAN CLASS SCHEDULE CHANGES BE MADE?

THIS PROCEDURE WAS CREATED TO:
  • Protect curriculum time.
  • Minimize disruption of classes.
  • Award full credit to students for completing a course.
  • Most importantly, it shelters the student from being academically behind in another course.

G.H.S. SCHEDULE CHANGE APPEAL PROCESS

1
Talk with your counselor to begin the process.
2
If you are struggling with a class, talk to your teacher. Share your concerns and discuss ways that you can be successful in the class.
3
If the strategies/intervention plan with your teacher does not work and you feel it is necessary to request a change, talk to your counselor.
4
If it is determined that changing classes is the best route students will complete the appeal form.   Students will obtain the required signatures and will give the appeal to their counselor.
5
The counselor will fill out a schedule change form. Students are responsible to obtain all   signatures.
6
Students will take both the schedule change form and the appeal form to the main office for   administrative review.
7
If it is approved by the administration, your counselor will change the schedule.
At Grantsville High School, we believe much can be gained both academically and behaviorally in persevering through academic challenges. Our counselors would be happy to sit down and discuss options available to help students be successful in their current courses.

If you can't get in to see your counselor in person, make sure to email them before the deadline.
